Heart to Heart
with Leina Wann, Multimedia Artist
1pm to 4pm, Sunday, April 5th
Space limited to 6. (Class Fee: $30)
We gather to remember love through creating a variety of hearts - for ourselves, for loved ones, for community and for the world. Some hearts we keep and others we give away as tokens of love.
First we create a personal heart on stone for ourselves.
Then we decide on a few friends and loved ones we wish to give hearts to
and make hearts on thick paper, wood, and shells - with acrylic paint.
If time permits, we can create a collective heart for the world.
Leina Wann
enjoys creating abstract art, fine art, fabric art and mixed mediart. Her artwork is inspired and created - from within the heart center outward.

About Lynda Slater: I have always enthralled with textiles all my life. Spinning, weaving, sewing and dyeing have all been explored. The last 40 years, dyeing has been top of the list. Over the years I have had the good fortune to study different dyes, techniques and fibres in various places: Italy , Bali, Java,USA and Canada. I dyed thousands of kilos of silk for Treenway Silks and when the company was sold and moved to the USA, I found other ways to use my dye skills. Some of my dyed silks were used to make a sash for the Queen so somewhere in the bowels of Buckingham palace are silks dyed in Sooke. Wet felting and Nuno felting are fun techniques to learn as there are no mistakes!
