SPECIAL CALL TO ARTISANS

REGISTER NOW

The Sooke Philharmonic and the Sooke Arts Council are holding a joint fundraiser, with publicity support from the Sooke Fine Arts Society, to benefit the Sooke Philharmonic. The tour will showcase local private gardens, some with music by members of the Sooke Philharmonic and friends. Artisans are invited to participate in one of the following ways:

1. IN A PLEIN AIR creating works of art "in the open air"! The Sooke Arts Council will pay each participating artist a $50 honorarium to offset the cost of supplies. By agreeing to participate in this very special cultural event, and in order to receive the honorarium, you agree to donate your completed piece to Sooke Arts Council, to be auctioned off as a joint fundraiser for the Sooke Philharmonic and Sooke Arts Council. Honorariums will be paid upon receipt of your completed work.

OR

2. AS AN ARTISAN VENDOR  ($25 fee)

Showcase your works in a SSGAT garden on the days of the tour. You will need to provide your own table and/or tent, etc. You keep all the sales of your art.

OR

3. AS A STUDIO ($10 fee)

Welcome garden tour visitors to your home studio to view and purchase your works. The location of your studio will be noted on the SSGAT. Any sales will be for your benefit.

The opportunity to create art in the open air with the added bonus of contributing to the fundraiser is definitely a unique way to get involved, but showcasing your work as a vendor or welcoming visitors to your studio could be just as fulfilling. Which option are you leaning toward?
