We’re working on getting a new gallery set up (hopefully for June) as well as planning various arts based events over the summer. All soon to be announced.

Check out our Events Page for news of member and council events including member Maurina Joaquin’s Natural Transformations – an Art Show exploring experiences of trauma, brain injury and disability, as well as the layers involved in the healing process.

Since the gallery closure, we have been busy trying to secure a new “home” for our little gallery. We are pleased to say we have secured a place for us to open sometime in June.

The Sooke Arts Council is partnering up with Red Light Studios and the Sooke Festival Society, in creating an Artistic Hub in downtown Sooke. Red Light Studios are opening a Barbershop and Music school in the old Crisis Centre, The Sooke Festival Society will house their headquarters here and The Sooke Arts Council will be opening a new Gallery in the Studio in June. There is also a permanent bottle drop off on site to help raise funds for the Sooke Music Festival, Music School and Amber Academy. This space is much smaller than our previous gallery, but we will be presenting art shows and have some form of a giftshop.  We will have a back yard and plan to set up our tent there for events or classes or just a place to do art together.
